Real estate tax is approved

The St. James City Council held a special meeting Aug. 26 to approve the 2010 real estate tax rate for the City of St. James.

There were no public statements at the public hearing held prior to the meeting.

The tax rate was approved as following: $.3894 for general revenue purposes and $.0605 for parks and recreation for a total of $.4499 per $100 assessed valuation.

The motion for approval was made by Councilperson Mag Roberts and seconded by Councilperson Jim White.

The rate has not changed from the 2009 rate.

For 2010 the aggregated assessed valuation for the City of St. James was $35,260,466. For 2009 the aggregated assessed valuation was $35,059,796.
