The 'Cat in the Hat' was this month's Parents as Teachers Story time guest at the St. James Public Library.  Parent Educator Charity Satterfield wore the famous red and white hat in honor of Dr. Seuss' 106th birthday March 2.

More than 35 parents and children enjoyed listening to the 'Cat in the Hat' book, as well as coloring Dr. Seuss character pages, and decorating their own sugar cookies.  The group completed the event by singing a special birthday song.

The final story time for this school year will be April 13 at 10:30 a.m. and 'Peter Rabbit' will be hopping by for a visit.  For more information about the Parents as Teachers program, or free developmental screenings, contact Darla Wells at 265-2300 x4317.
