Missouri's weather may not be predictable but Marilyn Smallwood of Plaza Fashions in St. James can predict that bright aquas and clear blues and lots of lime green are the colors for this Spring. You can check out the spring look at the Spring Fashion Show at Meramec Vineyards at Noon on Thursday, April 3.
Meramec Vineyards' Bistro d'Vine's delicious (and fashionable) luncheon menu features Italian herb frittata, salad, bread, coffee, tea, glass of wine and a meringue nest filled with strawberries. The models show Plaza Fashion outfits up front and personal at each table. You can check out the fabric, ask questions of the models about fit and plan your accessories. By the way, Marilyn says this season is all about accessories. Treat your purse as an accessory; forget about matching purses and shoes; it's “no matchy matchy”.
When you hear foil, you may think it's about that capsule on the top of the wine bottle but when applied to fashion this season the foiled look is what is in - fabric with a metallic finish. It's a look meant to be dressy or casual. You have to check this out. Another feature from Plaza Fashions is jeans. Not your daughter's jeans. These are 4% lycra, bi-stretch. Marilyn calls them “tummy tuck jeans”.
Put some Spring in your step, make reservations for the Meramec Vineyards Fashion Show. You can check out the expansion project at the winery, where they are enclosing the breezeway. Luncheon $15. Meramec Vineyards is located on the north outer road (Highway B) about a mile east of I-44 Exit 195.
