May 22

Micholas A. Moorman, 22, of St. James was arrested for driving while suspended. He was booked in the Phelps County jail, given a court date, then released on summons.

May 23

Jaime Marie Bernal, 31, of St. James was arrested on a warrant charging her with passing bad checks. She remains in the Phelps County jail with no bond.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Hwy B for a reported noise disturbance. A warning was given for the noise. One person at the residence was arrested. Teresa Michele Parson (Tolie) was arrested on an outstanding warrant for bad checks. She was incarcerated in the Phelps County and later released on bond of $250 cash.

May 25

Jamie L. Hopkins, 33, of St. James was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to return rented/leased property with a bond of $1000 and a warrant for receiving stolen property with a bond of $10,000. He remains in the Phelps County jail.

May 26

Robert Young Bates, 40, of St. James surrendered himself to the Sheriff's department deputies on two outstanding warrants for having a front seat passenger without seat belts. He was booked into the Phelps County Jail and later released on a total bond of $2000.

Deputies were called to a residence on CR 2410, near St. James, for a report of a possible burglary and vandalism. There was considerable damage done to items in and around the residence. A not was left by the suspect, however, as it was the spouse of the reporting party and they are legally married, there was not a crime as it was her property as well as his. No charges were filed.

May 27

Deputies received a report of trespassing by a known party. The reporting subject did not want to file charges, just wanted a report on file.

May 30

Joseph A. Colegate, 35, of St. James was arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving while revoked. He was booked into the Phelps County jail, given a court date, and released on summons to a sober driver.

William P. Scheider, 29, of St. James was arrested on an outstanding warrant for forgery and placed in the Phelps County jail. He was later released on $7000 bond.

May 31

Deputies received a report of an assault from a St. James resident that had occurred in the county. The victim did not want to pursue charges. As the victim was a minor, the mother was contacted and she also was not interested in pressing charges at this time. Information was given to the victim and mother concerning an exparte. 

June 2

Deputies received a report of an assault, which occurred at Boys & Girls town near St. James in which a resident was assaulted by another. There were no apparent injuries.
