Two troopers receive promotions

Capt. Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the following promotions, effective Aug. 1.

Cpl.Gregory A. DuBois was promoted to sergeant and designated as the zone commander of Zone 1.  DuBois is also a 1996 graduate of the University of Central Missouri, where he obtained a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice.

Sgt. DuBois was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol in January 1997, and upon graduation from the Academy was assigned to Troop I, Zone 1.  DuBois also served as a canine officer for Troop I, from September 1999, until November 2003. On Jan. 6, 2008, he was promoted to corporal and designated as the assistant zone commander of Zone1.

Trooper Shawn D. Altermatt was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 1. Altermatt is also a 1995 graduate of Missouri State University, where he obtained a bachelor’s of science degree in wildlife management.

Altermatt was employed as a soil scientist for the Missouri DNR prior to his appointment to the Highway Patrol Academy on Feb. 1, 1998.  Following his graduation, Altermatt was assigned to Troop E.  Altermatt transferred to Troop I, Rolla, on Aug. 1, 2009.
