The St. James Fire Protection District approved the tax rate for 2011 at its meeting Aug. 17.
The tax rate for 2011 is $.2362 per $100 assessed valuation, according to Fire Chief Bruce Parton.
The rate increased by nearly one-half of one cent.
The tax rate for 2010 was $.2317 per $100 of assessed valuation.
