A 50-year-old St. James man has died of injuries he sustained during an accident on a four-wheeler.
Richard L. Vaughn, 50, of St. James died at 1:21 p.m. Thursday of injuries he suffered when the 1999 Honda 400 EX he was operating in the 300 block of North Jefferson jumped a curb and then struck a pole.
According to the St. James Police report on the accident, Vaughn was northbound on North Jefferson - Missouri Route 8 - when he lost control of the four-wheeler, running it off the right side of the roadway, striking the curb.
The vehicle then continued northbound and struck a pole before coming to a rest.
Vaughn was pronounced dead at the scene by the Phelps County Coroner Larry Swinfard.
Vaughn was transported from the scene by Swinfard.
