Lloyd Pooker, with Creative Construction Solutions (CCS Group, Inc.), noted the progress of the Elementary improvements.

CCS Group acts as a project management team for the St. James School District.

Pooker noted the electric service and sanitary sewer pipes have been installed to connect to the existing system. The lines ran through the playground on the west side. The playground has been restored and students are able to access it. Utility poles have been installed on the west side of the building by St. James Municipal Utilities.

For the front entry on the south side of the building, preparations are being made for a concrete slab to be poured and a new set of doors to be installed. This is currently the entrance for students in grades kindergarten to second. Students in grades third to fifth enter through the new gymnasium doors.

The hallway constructed between classrooms and the existing cafeteria location has been made available for staff and students to use. The hallway previously used awnings and was subjected to outside elements.

The hallway currently has temporary lights. Pooker also noted the walls and ceiling of the hallway will be finished in the evenings to not interfere with student activities.

The east edition of the project is also progressing with electric and plumbing work nearing completion and a concrete slab expected to be poured this week.
