The St. James Chamber of Commerce 2010 new board members were installed at the 2009 annual dinner Jan. 22.
2009 President Dominic DeLuca passed the gavel to 2010 President Dan Cavender.
“This year again has been the most productive with more projects, more events and more fundraisers,” DeLuca said.
DeLuca noted the first St. James Sip 'n Savor, which was organized by marketing and tourism chair Vicki Frazier. He also mentioned the Tour of Missouri coinciding with the Grape & Fall Festival.
“The community stepped up with the renovation of the depot, which will be the centerpiece of downtown,” DeLuca said. “We have $25,000 to date and the depot goal is $60,000.”
DeLuca said fundraising efforts are underway for the depot renovation including the progressive dinner March 20.
The Chamber is also conducting an Alaskan getaway fundraiser, which includes a four-day and three-night stay. The names for the winners of the Alaskan trip will be drawn at the progressive dinner.
The returning board members from 2009 were recognized, as well as those leaving including Alan Sachs, Jim Ashby and Karla Smith.
Chamber Director Jennie Miller was noted for her efforts in 2009 as well.
Executive committee members for 2010 include: President Dan Cavender, Vice President/President Elect Renee Ridling, Past President Dominic DeLuca, Treasurer Jo Richards and Secretary Johanna MacPherson.
Other Chamber Board of Directors members for 2010 include: Myra Pierce for Beautify St. James, Butch Tucker for Economic Development, Robert Tessaro for Marketing and Tourism, Lisa Ubben for Area Merchants, Jim Fleming for Industry, Joy Tucker for St. James Schools and At Large members Ryan Shockley, Mike Conaway, Randi Hemme, Kelly Money and Vicki Frazier. Jamie Hunt is the Ex-Officio for the City of St. James.
