At approximately 8:45 a.m. this morning a gold explorer had flipped South of Ed’s Market and the Painted Lady Bed and Breakfast on Mo. Hwy 8.
The vehicle was traveling Southbound on the highway when the driver appears to have lost control after drifting off the right side of the road at the curve. The vehicle then skidded to the left side of the road and flipped in a ditch at 17095 Hwy 8.
The occupants were trapped in the vehicle for a short amount of time.
Two adults and two children were in the vehicle at the time. Minor to moderate injuries appear to have occurred, and all four people were taken to the Phelps County Hospital by way of ambulance.
Missouri State Highway Patrol, Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, St. James Fire Protection and St. James Ambulance all responded to the scene.
The accident is still under investigation at this time and the Leader-Journal will update the website when more information is available.
