The St. James Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate The James Foundation as February “Business of the Month.”
The James Foundation was created following the death of Lucy James who passed away in 1938. Since 1941 the James Foundation has strived to manage Mrs. James Missouri properties as directed in her will. Over the past 71 years many thousands have benefited from the foresight of Mrs. James and her wishes.
Today the James Foundation offers many recreational and educational opportunities for the St. James community. The local 54 acre St. James Park offers group picnicking, fishing and basketball to name a few.
The James Memorial Library is located in the town property and serves the area with several resources. Books, magazines and movies are available for check out. In addition to reading programs, the library offers computer services for children and adults.
Maramec Spring Park offers over 200 acres of public use area within the 1860 acres of property. Seasonal activities include trout fishing, camping and museums.
Many area private groups, as well as school groups, enjoy the various educational programs offered at the park.
Several playground, athletic and picnic areas are available for daily use.
Maramec Spring Park is open year round for the public to enjoy the natural beauty the park has to offer in any season.
