Locals will soon be graced with a HeeHaw show at the St. James VFW Hall. The purpose of the HeeHaw show will be to raise funds for the playground project at Nelson Hart Park.

The playground already has some equipment, but Parks Director J.R. Marcus said it is still in need of a slide and geodome, among other pieces of equipment.

According to Ruben Armenta, an organizer of the HeeHaw show, the show will be Feb. 17-18, and tickets will be $20 for adults and $10 for children. A meal will be served at 6 p.m., and the show will follow at 7 p.m.

Armenta said the performers have been rehearsing for weeks, and he expects the show to be fun for everyone involved.

The playground will be named after Marilyn Woolsey, a 35-year city employee who recently retired.
