Alma Lee (Craft) Hanks passed away last Tuesday, May 7, 2008 at St. May’s Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 5 days. Alma Lee was born March 2, 1944 in Eminence, Missouri to the late Toney and Wilma (Wilson) Craft.

Alma Lee Craft was united in marriage to Joe Hanks on December 10, 1966, and to this union two children were born. Alma Lee and Joe made their home in Tebbetts, Missouri. Alma Lee worked for Scholastic Books for 16 years, as a book puller; she loved to yard sale, travel with her granddaughter Courtney Hanks and garden, always sharing her bountiful garden with family, friends and neighbors. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed.

Alma Lee (Craft) Hanks is survived by her children, Billy Hanks, and wife, Jodi, of Holts Summit, Mo.; Gina Bradbury, and husband Jay, of Linn, Mo.; brothers, Willis Craft, of Cuba; Bob Craft and wife Cecelia, of St. James; Melvin Craft and wife Brynda, of St. James; Jimmie Craft and wife Linda, of St. James; Leon Craft and wife, Donna, of St. James; Larry Craft, of St. James; Danny Craft and wife Terri of St. James; Tim Craft and wife Paulette, of St. James; Randy Craft and wife Susan, of St. James; sister Judy Craft, of St. James; grandchildren, Courtney Hanks and Josie Bradbury; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Alma Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, who passed away on July 11, 1999, her parents Toney and Wilma Craft, and one infant brother.
Funeral service for Alma Lee (Craft) Hanks will be Saturday, May 10 at 11 a.m. in the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Larry Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri. A visitation for family and friends will be Friday, May 9 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery fund, cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.
