Douglas Eugene Maus passed away in Rolla, Missouri on May 7, 2008 at the age of 69 years, 11 months, 20 days. Douglas was born in Montevideo, Minnesota on May 18, 1938 to the late Adolph and Gladys (Sunderland) Maus.

Douglas proudly served his country in the United States Army from July 5, 1956 to December 17, 1958. After returning home he met and marriedthe love of his life, Lorraine Ballard, whom he married in 1963. To this union they were blessed with two sons.

Douglas was very active in the community; he was a member of the United Methodist Church, a life member of the NRA, North American Hunting Club, Ducks Unlimited, and was very active in VFW Post #5608 and in the American Legion. Douglas loved his family and was devoted to his sons and grandchildren. Spending time with grandchildren was always at the top f the list. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Survivors include mother, Gladys Maus, of Montvideo, Minnesota; sons, Douglas Maus, Jr. and wife, Julie, of Montevideo, Minnesota; Cory Maus and wife, Christy, of St. James; brother Bruce Maus, of Lakerville, Minnesota; sisters, Ruth Ann Cordingly, and husband Kenny of Aberdene, South Dakota; Marion Mitlying, and husband Jon, of Montvideo, Minnesota; Cheryl Edling, and husband Jack, of Geneva, Illinois; Marsha Rademacher, and husband Tim, of Montvideo, Minnesota; six grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Memorial service for Douglas E. Maus will be Saturday, May 10 a 1 p.m. at the VFW Post #5608 in St. James. Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service from 12 to 1 p.m.
