Dennis Godfrey Hahn, 65, Cameron, Missouri passed away on May 2, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Dennis was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Godfrey “Fritz” Hahn and Eleanor Schofield Hahn. They moved to St. James when Dennis was 4, where he later graduated in 1960 from John F. Hodge High School, St. James Missouri.

Dennis spent eight years in the U.S. Air Force.  He served in the 1100th Security Squad Honor Guard in the White House during the Kennedy Administration. Dennis was Access Controller for the Cuban Crisis Command Post in the Pentagon, and an Honor Guard for Air Force One during departures and arrivals at the White House.

Dennis served two tours of duty in Vietnam, receiving a Purple Heart.  He left the Air Force in December 1968.  He then entered the Missouri State Highway Patrol in June 1969 and served all twenty-seven years with Troop H. of St. Joseph.  He served in the Davies, Dekalb and Clinton county areas, also serving Caldwell and Livingston County for 1 year.

Dennis worked at Hallmark Distributation Center in the security department in Liberty, Mo. for 9 years.

Dennis was a member of the Missouri State Troopers Association, M.A.S.T.E.R.S, VFW, the Elmer Ellis American Legion, Cameron United Methodist Church, Cameron Veterans Memorial Golf Course, and a charter member of B.P.O.E. #2615.
He is preceded in death by his parents and step-brother, Kenneth Hahn of St. Charles.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Ann of the home, son Matthew (Cassie) of Cameron; daughters Christine Davis of St. James, Cherisse Steiner (Todd) of Amity, and Michelle Wieberg of St. James; grandchildren, Dakota and Dallas Steiner of Amity, Tyler Davis of St. James, Tasha, Katie, and Adam Wieberg of St. James, Sydney Durant of Cameron, and 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Harmsen (Jerry) of Houston, Texas.

Services: 2:00 PM, Monday, May 5, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, Cameron, Missouri. Visitation: 6-9:00 PM, Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron, Missouri.Burial: Cameron Memory Gardens, Cameron.
