Evelyn (Peggy) D. Briner of St. James, Missouri passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at her home.
Peggy was born August 1, 1923 in Hunter, Oklahoma to the late Isaac and Lucille (Jeffries) Schreck.
Peggy was united in marriage on February 8, 1947 to Kenneth R. Briner and to this union three were children born. Peggy, Kenneth and their family spent the next 29 years as a military family traveling in the United State Air Force. When they relocated back to Missouri, they bought a farm in St. Elizabeth, where they lived before moving to St. James in 1978. After losing Kenneth in 2005, Peggy joined the Fort Leonard Wood Widowed support group. Peggy was also a member of the St. James Civic Club; she loved traveling with the P.C.B's, reading and time spent with her family and friends.
Peggy Briner is survived by her children, Mike Briner and wife, Arleta of Yorktown, VA; Judith Briner, of Portland, OR; brother, Dwight Schreck and wife, Coralee of Mt. Vernon, IL; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, daughter Patricia Briner, and two brothers.
Graveside service for Peggy Briner will be Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with Reverend Stephen Brubaker officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be Monday, June 2, 2008 from 5-7 PM, in the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary.
