Dear Editor:
The family of Wilma Hunter Edwards would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the many gestures of support, love and encouragement during the past few weeks of Wilma's illness and passing. Wilma loved the people of St. James and would want us to let you know how much you meant to her - every student, police officer, fireman, post office employee, fellow merchant, churches, teachers, preachers, nursing home workers, bankers, truck drivers, nurses, doctors, dentists, restaurant owners and workers, old timers and newcomers alike - "the whole bunch of 'em", as she would say. She was so proud to be a part of this community, and we would like you to know that in her last days her thoughts were about St. James and the future for her family and those who would continued on. In lieu of flowers, we have asked that donations be made to the St. James fund for the Tour of Missouri. Wilma wanted to see downtown become the vibrant and fun place it used to be "back in the old days", and the Tour of Missouri will bring in many people and cause quite a bit of excitement for visitors and residents. Just what Wilma would've loved. To make a contribution, you may send a check to: St. James CDC, c/o Edwards, PO Box 32, St. James, MO 65559, payable to St. James CDC. Again, thank you to everyone who gave us a kind word of encouragement, love, and attended the visitation, funeral, sent plants or just kept us in their prayers. And know that when the Tour of Missouri arrives in September, Wilma's spirit will live on in the crowd!
Sincerely,
Dwayne and Martha Edwards
Amy and Greg
