A full-house greeted a contingent of St. Louis Cardinals past and present during Saturday night’s Cardinal Caravan event at Matt’s Steakhouse, located between Rolla and St. James off I-44.

For the first time in several years the Cardinal Caravan made a stop in Rolla. Cardinal radio announcer John Rooney served as master of ceremonies. Current Cardinal players who attended the event were third baseman David Freese and pitchers Kyle McClellan and Josh Kinney. Former Cardinals who were part of the group were ex-outfielder Kerry Robinson and former standout relief pitcher Al Hrabosky, who is also a TV analyst for the club.

Matt’s Steakhouse officials estimated 400 persons were in attendance.

After a Q&A session the Cardinal group signed autographs for around two hours. In addition, a number of Cardinal gifts were given away in a drawing.
