Lady Tigers win battle of state-ranked teams

The St. James High School girls’ basketball team won a battle of state-ranked teams on Feb. 18, beating Pacific 56-36 in Four Rivers Conference action.

St. James, ranked No. 5 in this week’s Missouri Class 4 state poll, ends its regular season 22-3 overall and 6-1 in the league. Pacific, ranked No. 9 in Class 4, falls to 20-5 and 4-3.

The top-seeded Lady Tigers are scheduled to play  Eldon at 6 p.m. tonight in the semifinals of the Missouri Class 4 District 9 Tournament, to be held in Eldon. Eldon beat Salem Feb. 15 in first-round play.

St. James’ junior varsity team wrapped up a perfect, 17-0 campaign by beating Pacific 45-25.
