The league champion St. James High School boys’ basketball team had two players named to the All-Four Rivers Conference First Team and another selected honorable mention.
St. James seniors Chase Ford, a 6-2 guard, and Jon Connell, a 6-3 forward, were both unanimous picks for the all-league team. Also for the Tigers 5-11 sophomore guard Greg Harlan was named all-league honorable mention.
Ford led St. James in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game while also averaging 5.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.4 steals.
Connell averaged 12.2 points and 7.2 rebounds for the Tigers while shooting 50 percent from the field.
St. James finished with a perfect 7-0 league mark, the Tigers’ first unbeaten conference run in 24 years, and was 16-9 overall. It’s the ninth league title in 32 years overall for the St. James boys.
Tiger head coach Ben Smith was named Four Rivers Coach of the Year. Player of the Year honors went to Hermann senior Jake Witthaus.
