There was not always an abundance of offense. But there was never a lack of effort for the St. James High School boys’ basketball team during the 2009-10 campaign.

The jayvee Tigers ended their season last week with a 13-8 overall record.

St. James jayvee head coach Lincoln Redburn was pleased with the progress made by his squad throughout the season.

“The effort was never an issue,” Redburn said. “The effort was very, very good all year. “Probably scoring was our biggest problem; we lived or died all year with our defense.”

The Tiger varsity squad will be losing five seniors, including leading scorers Chase Ford and Jon Connell, next season. Redburn feels confident some of this season’s jayvee players are ready to come up and made a positive difference at the varsity level.
