The Lucy Wortham James Exhibits are an important part of the St. James Grape & Fall Festival.

These awards are made possible through a grant from the James Foundation. The Lucy Wortham James Exhibits reward excellence in the areas of crafts, art, canning, baking, produce, and flowers.

Ribbons and cash awards are given in each category.  First, second, and third place cash prizes are awarded in each class.  New this year will be on Excellence Award given in each division and awarded $10.  This award will be given to the entry that is “Best of the Division” for each division.  The Excellence Award may be given in addition to another award recognition.
Also new this year are changes in the Baked Goods Division.

There will be a Baked Goods Auction on Friday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Nelson Hart Rec Center.  Fresh baked goods will be checked-in on Friday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Awards will be given that afternoon before the auction.  The monies received from the auction will go directly to the exhibitor of the sold item.

All other entries for the Lucy Wortham James Exhibits will be accepted at the Nelson Hart Fairgrounds on Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 3-8 p.m.

Entries must not be removed before 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11.  If you pick-up your items on Saturday night you will need to pay for fair entry/parking.  New this year, entries may be picked-up on Sunday, Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.  There will be no entry fee/parking for pick-up on Sunday.

Exhibits are open to the public starting Thursday, Sept. 9 through Saturday, Sept. 11.  For detailed rules for the exhibits please read the St. James Grape & Fall Festival publication.

Come join the fun and participate in the exhibits!  For more information contact Stan and Patty Frisbee at 573-265-5088 or sfrisbee@centurytel.net.
